Why another site about this

Search for how to enter Vietnam and almost every result belongs to a company that earns money the moment you decide the paperwork is too hard to face alone. That is an odd group of people to learn the rules from, and it shows: the same pages that explain the process also work quietly to make it sound harder than it is.

Nothing here is for sale. Applications are submitted by the traveller, on the government portal, for the government’s own fee. Saying so plainly costs this site nothing, which is exactly why it can say it.

What will be here

Four things, in the order a traveller actually meets them. Whether a given nationality needs a document at all. How to obtain one without a middleman. What that document permits once it exists — where it is accepted, how many crossings it covers, how long the clock runs. And what happens at the border on the day, which is the part almost nobody writes about because it cannot be sold.

Why it is thin today

The rules have moved twice in three years, and a large share of what is currently published about them is quietly out of date. Writing the current version, with the date it was checked attached to it, takes longer than restating what everyone else already posted. That trade seems worth making for a subject where being wrong costs a reader a flight.
