Which entry route fits your passport?

Choose the passport you will travel on. The routes below will sort themselves into likely options and routes that do not match that group.

Choose a group to sort the four entry routes.

Route 01Waiting for passport

Visa exemption, 45 days

No application and no fee. Your passport still needs six months of validity and at least two blank pages.

Route 02Waiting for passport

Visa exemption, 14 to 30 days

A shorter exemption applies to most ASEAN neighbours. The exact length depends on the country.

Route 03Waiting for passport

E-visa, up to 90 days

Open to every nationality. You apply on the government portal and pay the government's own fee.

Route 04Waiting for passport

Phu Quoc island exemption, 30 days

Only for trips where Phu Quoc is the first and only stop in Vietnam. It does not cover travel onto the mainland.

This is a quick orientation, not an eligibility decision. Rules change by decree; confirm the current position on the government portal before booking.

We explain the rules in plain English. Vietnamese authorities set them, change them and make the final decision at the border.
